The Green Consultancy

The Green Consultancy has provided energy/carbon consultancy to private and public sector organisations UK-wide since 1992. We offer flexible solutions designed to meet client needs and apply this philosophy to our Carbon Reduction Commitment services.

CRC requires significant action by participants to achieve compliance but also has important implications beyond compliance: league table strategy, cost identification and accounting, reputational issues, developing a financially robust carbon abatement plan in preparation for Phase 2 starting in 2013.

The Green Consultancy supports clients with any or all aspects of CRC - including rigorously identifying and implementing carbon reduction opportunities - providing a fully outsourced service or support to complement client's in-house resources.

Examples of such support are as follows:

The Daily Mail & General Trust

"As well as requiring DMGT to undertake actions to comply, CRC participation is an opportunity to reassess and improve our energy reduction strategy. We prefer to see CRC as an opportunity rather than a cost and are working with the Green Consultancy to help us capitalise on the opportunity. We are very pleased with the work that they are doing to: advise us on the impact of CRC, given the complications of our corporate structure and our CCAs; to manage CRC for us; and to help us to reduce carbon emissions."
Dr Rick Stunt Group Paper Director, Associated Newspapers Ltd

Filtrona plc

"Filtrona takes its environmental responsibilities seriously with demanding corporate targets. We engaged the Green Consultancy to help us understand the implications of CRC and to map out how CRC fitted with our existing objectives and reporting systems. We now have a clear way forward that will enable us both to comply and to use CRC to benefit our UK and global business".
John Harbron, Group Health Safety & Environment Manager

Southend University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust

"We will be in CRC and wanted to understand the implications. The NHS also has wider environmental targets and we needed a picture of how these fitted together. We asked the Green Consultancy to run a workshop to explain CRC in detail and give us an overview of related NHS initiatives. The workshop achieved its objectives and helped focus our minds on what we needed to do next. It was an excellent afternoon."
Malcolm McFrederick, Executive Director of Operations
